FAQs
What are PDO Threads?
PDO threads, made of polydioxanone, are inserted into the skin to smooth or lift skin and tissue that has started to lose elasticity. They return the V-shape to your face with strategic placement of the threads to support the tissue that has been diminished due to the natural aging process. Their placement triggers the body to produce new collagen and elastin production.
How do PDO Threads work?
PDO threads work by contracting fat tissue to lift and smooth sagging skin on multiple parts of the body. They are dissolvable sutures inserted into the skin to create a lifted and rejuvenated look by delicately lifting the skin and tissue. Once the threads are inserted, the skin will continue to improve over time, with the best results visible as collagen continues to be produced.
When will I see results?
You will see improvements to your skin following your PDO Thread treatment, with the best results visible 1-6 months after your treatment. The threads will stay in place for up to six months when they dissolve, leaving behind collagen that maintains the uplifted contours for up to two years.
Is there any downtime following treatment?
Patients can experience bruising and swelling for at least two weeks following treatment. We advise that patients avoid workouts and sweating and must sleep on the back for the duration of their recovery time.
